In conjunction with the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies and the Department of History at Brown University, the JCB is pleased to welcome leading scholars in early modern Portuguese history for a series of lectures focused on the history of the Portuguese empire in the early modern period. During the second and third weeks of November, the Library looks forward to hosting these lectures – which will be followed by receptions – as Brown University conducts an international search for the Vasco da Gama Chair in Early Modern Portuguese History. A comunidade portuguesa e lusofona da Nova Inglaterra será muito bem-vinda! Juntam-se a nós! Stay on the lookout for announcements about specific dates and times for these lectures.
