No Braver Men, The Story of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment During the Revolutionary War

Local historians, Robert A. Geake and Lorén Spears, will speak on "No Braver Men, The Story of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment During the Revolutionary War." They will discuss the formation of the historic regiment which included white, free blacks, and indigenous laborers as well as manumitted slaves, their history during the war, and the struggle for equality and liberties in the aftermath of the conflict.

This informal talk will take place in the MacMillan Reading Room, with display of important books. The talk will end at 5:00pm.
