Between God and Darwin: Evading Disorder while Journeying Far from Home

Tackling colonization from an environmental history perspective, this talk will discuss how eighteenth-century British settlers described the natural environments they found far from home, and in particular, how they imbued these “soils and situations” with moral weight.
