November 2025 New Faces at the JCB

The image contains text welcoming the three new hires.

Over the past few years the JCB’s team has grown exponentially, increasing our capacity to do the work of supporting research about the early Americas through our extraordinary collections. This growth has been especially intense over the past few months, as we have added three new professionals to three different teams at the Library: Rare Materials Cataloguer Jennifer Dunlap, JCB 2026 Postdoc Program Coordinator Kathleen Telling, and Book and Paper Conservator Terra Huber.

Jennifer Dunlap comes to the JCB from Houghton Library at Harvard University and joins the Cataloguing and Digital Initiatives Team as a Rare Materials Cataloguer. She holds an MLIS degree from Dominican University and an MA in Musicology from the University of Iowa. In this role she will primarily focus on materials in Spanish and Portuguese covering the entire scope of the JCB’s Collection.

Dr. Kathleen Telling is our JCB 2026 Postdoc Program Coordinator. She earned her Ph.D. in History at the College of William and Mary, and will be at the JCB for two years. Her first projects include contributing to the curation of the JCB 2026 and Beyond exhibition “1776 Across the Americas” and co-organizing a series of events related to the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Our most recent addition is Book and Paper Conservator Terra Huber, who joined the Curatorial and Conservation Team. Terra was most recently the Paper and Photograph Conservator at the Boston Athenaeum. Like Head of Libraries Conservation Roger Shaw Williams, Terra will split his time between the JCB and the John Hay Library at Brown University. This expansion of our conservation team will greatly enhance the library’s capacities to care for its collections.

We’re thrilled to welcome each of them to the JCB!
