Welcoming Library Specialist-Metadata Judy Dowling

The John Carter Brown Library is excited to welcome Judy Dowling as our new Library Specialist-Metadata. Judy will be joining the Cataloging & Digital Initiatives team to assist our Head of Cataloguing Services and our Associate Director for Digital Asset Management with a wide range of projects.  Judy’s work is an essential part of the workflow that will allow the JCB to move materials through cataloging and digitization and onto our platform, Americana– and to get the full library collection digitized by 2034.

Judy served previously as the Digital Collections Metadata Specialist at Providence College and as a Digital Archivist at The Digital Ark, Corp. She earned a Master of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) at University of Rhode Island and holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science and an M.A. in Theology from Providence College.
