Before joining the JCB in early 2020, I was head of collection development at the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection (University of Texas-Austin), an institution where I worked for six years. I received my PhD in Spanish American Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, and taught at Gettysburg College, Bard College, and Tulane University. I published the novel Quincalla (2005), three books for children, and the YA book Mi abuelo fue agente secreto (2015). I translated into Spanish Nicolas Grimaldi’s Bref traité du désenchantement (1998), and co-edited (with Julianne Gilland) the collective volume A Library for the Americas. The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection (2018). At the JCB I work on acquisitions, programming, exhibitions, publications, and collaborate with fellows whose research deals with Latin America.
