Commencement Weekend Open House
The John Carter Brown Library will open its stately doors on the Main Green to welcome all members of the Brown community and their friends and families. The Library holds a world-renowned collection of rare books, manuscripts, maps, and broadsides relating to the history and culture of the early Americas. Library Director Neil Safier ’91 will be on hand with curators and digital staff to describe new initiatives in environmental history and indigenous studies, collaborations with community groups to explore local history, and efforts underway to digitize the Library’s collections and make them accessible to scholars from around the world. The Library's current exhibition, The Americas on Fire, will be on view, along with a special exhibition entitled, "So What'd I Miss?": Lafayette, Jefferson, and Hamilton at the John Carter Brown Library.
